Such a great little restaurant! The food was fresh and homemade. There was an array of desserts including cakes, pies, and cheesecake! The scones were my husband's favorite - blueberry/lemon and strawberry! We had to take some home! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. We'll be back! It's well worth the drive from Athens!

We absolutely love Rowdy Rooster! Their pies are out of this world — fresh, delicious, and made with love. Kathleen and Jamie are the sweetest and always make us feel like family. If you haven’t tried their pies yet, you’re seriously missing out!

What a quaint local diner. We felt at home from the moment we walked in. I ordered a turkey, avocado & provolone sandwich on ciabatta and my wife decided on the grilled cheese. Both were served with fresh fruit and everything was very tasty. We finished off our meal with chocolate pie with including “the secret ingredient”. It was absolutely one of the best homemade pies ever. After we ate we struck up a longer conversation with Kathleen and spent time getting to know more about her, and local history. There’s plenty of local and regional food and crafts to keep you looking around after your meal as well. The Rowdy Rooster is so charming and so is the entire staff. We anticipate spending more time here for sure.

Someone told me that this cafe and store is a gem in little ole' historic Lexington, and she was not kidding! The food, service, and atmosphere get an A+ from me. I ordered a tomato, provolone, and avocado sandwich on wheat and a cinnamon roll to go. The store area is small, but has some wonderful and unique gifts with a "buy local" flair. I did not even know that there is such a thing as pecan oil, but they sell it here!!

Best place for friends, fun and good food. Small family owned restaurant that has local items for sale. Honey. Jams. Pottery. Art work. Wood works. Outside seating available. Only problem is they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Get there early Saturday to grab a delicious homemade scone. Pies and cakes are baked fresh too. Homemade horseradish goes great on a roast beef and cheddar sandwich.

My favorite little local place where you can get great food, meet interesting people, spend time, and just enjoy the welcoming atmosphere. My wife and I come here whenever we can. We especially like the pies!

There is a fantastic atmosphere inside and out. The owners and local patrons visiting the Rowdy Rooster are super friendly and made me feel at home. I tried a kish and a cheesecake and it was delicious. I will definitely return to browse local artists' works and to try more items from their menu.

About 15 of us descended on the Rooster all at once. We were treated very well by the staff, and all our orders were dealt with quickly and efficiently. My cinnamon roll was outstanding - like i was sitting in Memaw's kitchen.
